Issue: 2016-12
December 2016

Founder’s Corner

As we come to the end of another year, we find ourselves reflective of the year’s hard fought battles won and lost, of loves arrived and departed, and of successes and disappointments.

With rebuilding spirit, we look with great anticipation to what lay before us in the coming year.

And, most importantly, we look to reconnect over the next few weeks with our families and friends. After all, we do what we do professionally – not for love of treasure, or stature, or other such hubris – but to leave an indelible and positive mark on this Earth and on all whom we touch and who are a part of our lives.

It has been a great pleasure to be a part of your life’s journey. I am very grateful for your time, consideration, and support – and hope that I have been a benefit to you somehow.

So, as the Irish cheer goes, “May the best of your 2016 be the worst of your 2017.”

Happy Holidays to All of You from All of Us…

Getting the Most Value from Your Holiday Season

Joseph F Paris

The Thanksgiving Day feast is barely digested – yet there is still a week or so of leftovers remaining.  I remember, as a child growing-up in Endicott, New York, always marveling at the variety of dishes that could be made from the remnants.  With so many leftovers from every dish served during the prior day’s feast; gastronomically speaking, the day after Thanksgiving was very much like Thanksgiving Day itself – the only major difference being; instead of watching football games we would go Holiday Shopping.

The Outliers Inn Podcast

Episode 13 – Scooby Doo Leadership

Scooby and Scrappy – sorry, JP and Antlerboy – discuss an approach to organisations that is low budget, occasionally shows the join around the edges, and recycles the same story again and again. Not The Outliers Inn podcast, but Philip Holt’s Scooby Doo leadership.

There’s always a bad guy, always a mystery, and nobody exactly knows what they are there for. Much like the podcast, which at least gives Benjamin the chance to plug his book; knowing no business ‘answers’, he and colleagues have asked ‘The 99 Essential Business Questions’.

Hosts: Joseph Paris, Founder of the OpEx Society & The XONITEK Group of Companies Benjamin Taylor,  Managing Partner of RedQuadrant.

Guest: Philip Holt,
Head of Operational Excellence
